An Egyptian Greek Orthodox wedding and a king and his queen

Anna and David’s romantic and Egyptian wedding film, and their wedding photos (also shot by us), were created at 4 different locations - two separate AirBnBs about an hour away from each other, the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, and Brodie Homestead in Austin, Texas. Phew, what a day that was!

Their wedding was a mix of cultures with an emphasis on David’s Egyptian background in the Greek Orthodox Church, where a groom and his bride join each other’s lives as the King and Queen of their world. As is tradition, you’ll see them in their wedding ceremony dressed as an Egyptian King and Queen with their proper headwear, robes, and many adornments. We have to say, Anna in particular was fierce as hell in her attire and is like the storybook queen you always dreamed of.

Anna and DaviD - how a surgeon met a nurse

One thing you’ll find surprising and amazing about this film is that David does not have an Egyptian accent - he has a very southern and very charming Austin, Texas accent. To match, Anna has her southern Kentucky accent. You’re probably wondering “how did these two meet?!”

Well, they met at a hospital where they both worked; David in residency for orthopedic surgery, and Anna in nursing. One day they went out with some co-workers and that’s when they officially connected, but they first noticed each other as being standouts at the hospital who paid attention to every detail and cared for every patient. The respect they already had for one another before their first meeting then quickly blossomed at that happy hour after work when they met.

When you meet these two, you immediately feel a down-to-earth and genuine nature about them that is just down right inspiring. We found that we shared so many values with Anna and David and loved their way of life - particularly their way with each other.

Their Wedding Day

Their wedding day was romantic and had tons of funny characters in their bridal party. At the beginning of the day we took some amazing photos of Anna and her bridesmaids…which did involve breaking the bed frame in their AirBnB due to having too much fun.

Their wedding ceremony was a first for us in the Greek Orthodox Church and we loved all of it. We cherish opportunities like this when we can experience another faith and culture through our work.

Their reception ended with a sparkler exit amongst family and friends before the couple headed off in the night.
